It’s crazy to believe that this time last year I had finished my work, got my results and this crazy thing called “real life” had begun.
Last week I took a jolly over the Wimbledon to see the 3rd years degree show and it was fab! The year below me had a range of beautiful pieces from tutus to saris and Sackbacks to army uniforms. I got chatting to a couple of the girls on the day and, like last year, it sounds like the end was rather stressy, but they’re happy with how things have turned out. Well Done ladies and gentlemen…you did a fantastic job!
The Wimbledon College of Art show is on every year, roughly the 3rd week in June. All undergrad disciplines show work: Fine Art – Painting, Sculpture and Time Based Media. Theatre: Costume Interpretation, Costume Design, Set Design for Stage and Screen, Theatre Design and Technical Arts and Special Effects (TASE). Go and see it, it’s free, it’s always amazing and you’ll be seeing the work of future stars in the world of film, television and theatre. From my graduating class people are already working on blockbuster films such as Star Wars, making costumes for Paul McCartney music videos, setting up as high end bespoke clothes makers, making for the Royal Ballet, making for Disney….the list is like the who’s who of 21st century culture. and I’m at The Victoria and Albert Museum. So I’ll tag myself onto that list, if it’s not too braggy. Very proud of everyone! Go see the shows!
Congrats WCA.
